Orlin Erwin Umlauf, age 86 of Albertville, formerly of New Hope, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019. He was born May 20, 1933 in Aurdal Township, MN, the son of Erwin William Carl and Irene (Block) Umlauf.
Orlin graduated from the ROTC program and proudly served in the United States Army.
On July 3, 1960, Orlin Erwin Umlauf and Janelle Eileen Luebke were united in marriage in Fergus Falls, MN. The two made their home in New Hope and Orlin worked IT at ThermalTech until his retirement.
Orlin enjoyed the art of farming, collecting John Deere Smalls, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janelle Umlauf; parents, Erwin and Irene Umlauf; brother, Warren Umlauf; and brother-in-law, Leslie Luebke.
Orlin is survived by his siblings, Betty (Darwin) Rochel, Roger Umlauf, David (Gwen) Umlauf; siblings-in-law, Donna Umlauf, Karen (Steve) Mortenson, Dale Luebke; “daughter”, Donnetta (Jason) Wallace and their children Alex, Kamaryn, Maddie, Carter, Claire, Emma, and granddaughter Karoline; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Please join Orlin’s family for a graveside service on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 1:00 PM, with Military Honors, at Knollwood Cemetery in Fergus Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to family that will help provide a marker for Orlin and Janelle.
