Nyle Z. Sipe 87 of Buffalo, formerly of Rockford, passed away Wednesday at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.

Nyle Zachary Sipe was born on January 1, 1924 to Edward and Olga (nee Greehling) on the farm in Greenfield, MN. He was baptized on February 15, 1924 at Salem Lutheran Church in Greenfield by Pastor W.P. Haar Sr. He was confirmed on August 8, 1937 by Pastor Samuel Baer at Cross Lutheran Church in Rockford. His memory verse was Phlippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.” Nyle graduated from Rockford High School in 1941. He entered military service in 1945, and served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Area during World War II. He was honorably discharged in October of 1945 at the end of the war. On January 5, 1947 he was united in marriage with Marian Mutterer of Rockford by Pastor Baer. They were blessed with two sons, Randall Gene, born on February 17, 1948 and Gary Wayne, born on September 28, 1951. Nyle and Marian farmed for 36 years on the family farm in Greenfield. They sold the farm in 1983 and moved to Buffalo. They celebrated 40 years of marriage before Marian passed away on June 27, 1987. On July 23, 1988 Nyle and Margaret (Peg) Giese were married at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Hector, MN. They made their home in Lakefield, MN for the remainder of Peg’s teaching career. In 1997 they moved to Buffalo, where they resided until his passing. Nyle was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Olga, his first wife Marian, and brother in law Edward Ganz. He is survived by his wife Peg, sons Randy and Gary (Barbara), grandchildren Todd (Bonnie) Sipe and daughter Johanna, Shawn Sipe, Kristopher Sipe, Matthew (Julie) Sipe and children Marshall and Nora, Andrew (Cassie) Sipe, Benjamin (Nicole) Sipe and son Garrett, and Dakota Anne Sipe. Nyle is also survived by sister Wanda Ganz of Mora, MN and by brother in law Rev. Frederick Mutterer of Waupaca, WI. He is also survived by Peg’s children Chuck (Teresa) Giese, Jon Giese, Julie (Randy) Schlecht, Rick (Roxie) Giese,Jodechi (Elliot) Morton and Jeff (Julie) Giese. He is also survived by Peg’s grandchildren Jaime (Ben) and children Olivia and Preston, Tara, Trista, Brandon (Amanda), Tyler, Jimmy, Sara, Nicole, Makenna, Andrew and Kaylee. Nyle is also survived by many relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Nyle Sipe are Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Cross Lutheran Evangelical Church at 11:00 AM. Visitation was Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo from 4:00 – 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. There was one hour visitation at the church prior to the funeral service.

The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo assisted the family with arrangements.
