Nathan Allen Stender, age 43 of Buffalo, MN passed away on April 15, 2021 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Born on August 22, 1977, in Waconia, MN to David Stender & Vicky Wilson. Nathan spent most of his childhood in Sierra Vista, AZ. When he was in the 7th grade he moved to New Germany, MN where he lived with his dad, David. He graduated from Lester Prairie High School in 1997.
Nathan was a forklift driver for over 20 years, he had spent the last 7 years working at Landscape Structures in Delano, MN. Nathan and Annette started dating in 1997. They were married on September 24, 2005. They were blessed with 2 children, Owen (10) and Ian (7). Nathan was an outstanding father and treasured every moment with his two sons. He enjoyed family gatherings and celebrations. Nathan’s playful spirit made him the favorite uncle to all nieces and nephews at these gatherings. Through the years he played baseball and softball. Nathan was a die-hard NY Yankees fan. You would never see Nathan without his Yankees baseball cap. He loved everything about the game of baseball. He had a great sense of humor and always went out of his way to make sure everyone was having a good time when he was around.
Nathan is survived by his loving wife, Annette; sons, Owen & Ian; parents, David Stender & Vicky Wilson; brothers, Daniel (Brittany) Wilson, Thomas (Shannon) Wilson, Jason (Tammy) Wetzell; father and mother-in-law, Roger & Diana Thompson; brother-in-law, Alan (Debbie) Thompson; sister-in-law, Julie (Tom) Stifter; sister-in-law, Debra (Jon) Donovan; sister-in-law, Teresa Quernemoen; brother-in-law, Jean (Lasia) Thompson; brother-in-law, Jason (Laura) Thompson; brother-in-law, Nathan (Tina) Thompson; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and one uncle.
A celebration of Nathan’s life will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021. Family time will be 2-3 PM and open to the public from 3-6 PM at the Norwood Young American Pavilion: 21 Main Street East, Norwood Young America, MN 55397. Family and guests are encouraged to wear their favorite baseball hat or jersey to the service!
