Nancy Folstrom, age 67 of Buffalo, MN died unexpectedly at her home on December 16, 2016. Memorial service on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 1PM at The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo with visitation one hour prior to service at the chapel on Saturday.
Nancy was born on December 1, 1949 to Wendolin and Rose (Hafner) Roering in Breckenridge, MN. She was the youngest of five girls. Growing up, Nancy developed a lifelong love of animals, starting with her horses and puppies to other animals later in her life. She was a graduate of Wauban High School. On January 1, 1968 she married Albert Lee Fostrom in Naytahwaush, MN. Together they raised three beautiful children, Sherri Rose Opocensky, Bryan Lee and Jennifer Jean Kolfreya. Nancy took a lot of pride in her drawing, her grandchildren and was a good ear to all who crossed her path.
While living in Corcoran, MN she would spend the spring and summers in her flower beds and helped those in need of her green thumb. Nancy loved her puzzles, books, horror movies, angels and her elephants. The elephants reminded her of her Mom.
Nancy was loved by many and will be missed by many.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Rose, father, Wendolin and granddaughter, Kerri Ann Compton.
She is survived by her sisters, former husband, Albert Folstrom, two daughters, Sherri Opocensky, Jennifer Jean (Mike) Kolfreya; son Bryan Lee; grandchildren, Prudence and Cooper Peterson, Lauren and Amelia Rose Opocensky and Meghan Miller.
Your Uncle Jack and I were truly sorry and saddened to hear of your Mom’s death. Although, I haven’t seen her for many years I will always remember the many laughs that we shared, her amazing sugar cookies, and how much she loved her children and grandchildren.
