Myrtle M. Fadden, age 90, of rural Buffalo, died Friday evening, May 3, 2013 at her home.

She was born on July 1, 1922 in Buffalo the daughter of Arthur and Mathilda Michaelis Bjorklund.

Myrtle was confirmed at The Evangelical Covenant Church in Buffalo. She attended grades 1-8 at District #60, a one room rural country school near her home. She excelled in school, especially spelling, reading and penmanship.

On September 24, 1949, Myrtle Bjorklund and Richard “Dick” Fadden were married in a Double Wedding Ceremony with her brother Paul Bjorklund and Kathleen Rogers at the parsonage of The Evangelical Covenant Church in Buffalo. Myrtle and Dick’s attendants were Esther Bjorklund and Clarence Bjorklund. God blessed their marriage with two children: Nancy and Richard “Rich”.

Myrtle enjoyed spending time with family, living by the lake, baking, country music, cows, traveling, flowers, going for rides, word finds and playing cards. She was well known for her Pecan Bars, Glorified Rice, Pumpkin Pie Bars and Date Bar Cookies. Myrtle had a “sweet tooth”.

Myrtle is survived by a daughter: Nancy (Jake) Seth of Henderson; a son: Richard “Rich” Fadden of Buffalo and friend Deb; grandchildren: Christina (Tom) Schafer, Jake Jordan Seth (fiancée Kristel Lynch) Brandon Seth (fiancée Chelsie Wilson), Roscoe Fadden (special friend Maria Siegle), Richard Fadden (special friend Alicia Mengelkoch) and Jolene Fadden; brothers and a sister: Paul (Kate) Bjorklund, Clarence (Priscilla) Bjorklund and Ruth Bjorklund; sister-in-law: Stella Fadden; a host of other relatives and friends.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband: Dick in 2003, parents: Arthur & Mathilda Bjorklund, brothers: Marvin, Clinton, Willard “Bob” and Harold and by sisters: Edmere, Esther, Helen and Clara.

Funeral services for Myrtle Fadden will be held on Friday, May 10th at 11:00 A.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Pastor Roger Klemz will officiate. Interment will follow at Swedish Mission Cemetery in Buffalo.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9th from 4-8 P.M, at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

Tammy Jacobs will be the soloist and Marlene Mohwinkel will be the organist.

Casket Bearers will be her grandchildren: Roscoe Fadden, Christina Schafer, Jake Jordan Seth, Brandon Seth, Richard Fadden and Jolene Fadden.
