Doris Stumpf, 88, of Waverly, died on Wednesday, September 24th at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
Doris Dell Stumpf was born November 24, 1919 in Marysville Township – Waverly, Minnesota to Alfred and Daisy Swanson. Doris married Frank (Francis) W. Stumpf on June 19, 1947. They had three daughters.
Doris was a homemaker, who in her retirement years enjoyed working at her friend’s apple orchard. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and an over 50 year member of the Buffalo American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to garden and spent considerable time tending to her beautiful flowers. Doris loved to visit with her relatives and friends and took delight in having visitors at the farm. Frank and Doris spent many memorable years traveling together and especially enjoyed their winters in Arizona.
Doris is survived by her daughters Linda (Barry) Brobeck of Rochester, MN and Diane Stumpf of Buffalo, MN, sister Laurella Vieau, brother Leroy (Sally) of Buffalo, MN, brothers Kenneth Swanson and Harold Swanson of Waverly, MN, sister-in –law Lenora Swanson of Minneapolis, MN, beloved nieces and nephews, grandchildren Randy (Angela Nolan) Martin of San Francisco, CA, Jennifer Martin of Brooklyn, NY, Catherine Brobeck of Los Angeles, CA , Elizabeth Brobeck of Lake Forest, IL, and great-grandson Bradford Martin of San Francisco, CA. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, daughter Joanne Martin, brothers Vernon, Alvin, and Marvin Swanson, sisters Grace Erickson and Ruby Stumpf and several much loved nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 25th followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waverly. Visitation will be held at The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, MN, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 24th, with prayer service at 7:00PM.
