Lois J. DeJong 71
Lois DeJong of Maple Grove, Minnesota loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on August 25, 2011 at the age of 71.
Lois was born on August 15, 1940 in Loretto, Minnesota to Charles and Gertrude Harff Schnappauf. Lois married Harry DeJong in 1963. Harry and Lois were blessed with two sons Michael (Terri Swanson) and Tim ( David Sandum). Lois worked for Control Data that later became Seagate for 35 years.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Harold Schnappauf and LuVerne Schnappauf, sisters Margaret Smith, Muriel Peterson, Lorraine Kessell and Eileen Schnappauf.
Lois is survived by her sons, sisters Harriet Hanson, Louise Kilgore, Carol Hayes (Charles),granddaughter Krista Swanson, great-grandson Brandon Swanson and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services for Lois DeJong will be held Monday August 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church 9655 Pioneer Trail Greenfield, Minnesota. Visitation will be held on Sunday August 28, 2011 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again for 1 hour prior to the funeral service.Burial will be in the Salem Evangelical Luthean Church Cemetery in Greenfield, Minnesota.

    Lois was a thoughtful, sweet lady. We worked together at Seagate for many of my 33 years there and she was one of the best people to be around. We also shared our love for Neil Diamond music. I’ve thought of her many times since she retired and was sad to hear of her passing. My sympathies to the family.
