William Edward Sargent, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 15, 2011 at the age of 93.
William was born July 15, 1918 to Will E. and Gertrude E. Harbek Sargent in Minneapolis, Minnesota. William married Rosie Louise Hengel on July 14, 1945 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. William and Rosie were blessed with two children, a daughter Kathleen and a son Robert.
William moved to Buffalo, Minnesota from Bonita Springs, Florida in 2010 to be closer to his daughter Kathleen and his grandchildren. William enjoyed making jewelry, working cross word puzzles and was an avid reader. He also volunteered with his church, Hope Lutheran Church, in Bonita Springs when he was living there. Since moving to Buffalo, William attended Zion Lutheran Church. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Rosie for more than 62 years. William is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Robert Sargent and sister Virginia Sompayrac.
William is survived by his daughter Kathleen Martinson (Ronald), grandchildren Michael Andrew Martinson, Kimberly Joy Martinson, Kristin Mikelyn Jordan (Joshua Lowell), and close relatives Sharyn Townsley (Robert) and Sharon Poskozim (Raymond).
A Memorial Service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church in Bonita Springs, Florida on Saturday September 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
Both Pat and I were saddened to hear of Bill’s death. He was our neighbor in FL, living two floors up from our condo.
