Larry D. DeGraw age 59 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home. Larry was born on May 8, 1950 in Lawrence, TN to Mary Evelyn Cross. The family moved around for a while before settling in Raymond, MN. Larry met Lois Caspers at the age of fourteen while working in a sugar beet field. He graduated from Clara City High School in early summer of 1968. Larry and Lois were married later that summer on July 12, 1968. Their marriage was blessed with two children whom they raised in Willmar until moving to the Twin Cities in 1993. Larry and Lois later moved to Buffalo in 2006. Larry worked as an independent contractor most of his life. He worked at H&H Bait and Gun Shop in Maple Lake until his cancer diagnosis in September 2008. Larry is preceded in death by his step dad Marvin Henslin. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-one years, Lois; son, Todd (Laura) of Raymond; daughter, Tonya (Michael) Bergin of Monticello; mother, Mary Evelyn Henslin of Alexandria; brother, Bill (Jan) Cross of Deerwood; grandchildren, Zachary DeGraw, Katie DeGraw, Aiden Bergin, and Kieran Bergin. Funeral service for Larry will be at 11 AM on Thursday, August 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Monticello, 449 W. Broadway St. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 12 at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo from 4-8 PM and further visitation one hour prior to service at church. Burial will take place at Zion Cemetery in Buffalo.
I was Larry’s chemo nurse and I will miss him greatly. He so kind and gentle. He always had a smile on his face EVEN when I had to poke him with needles. I was so fortunate to get to know Larry and he will be forever in my memories. My prayers are with you.
