Mildred “Millie” Bonk, age 87, of Buffalo, MN, died Monday, August 2nd, 2010, at Lake Ridge Assisted Living in Buffalo.
She was born in Wahkon, MN, on August 14th, 1922, the daughter of LeRoy “Bud” and Christina Perisian.
On November 29th, 1940, Mildred Perisian was joined in holy marriage to Ruben Bonk. God blessed their marriage with nine children.
She belonged to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Millie enjoyed ceramics/crafts, flowers, gardening and reading.
Survived by loving husband of sixty-nine years: Ruben; children: Jim (Ruth) Bonk, Linda (Alvin) Bodin, Vicky Endreson, Rick (Peggy) Bonk, Randy (Lisa) Bonk all of Buffalo, and Mike Bonk of St. Michael; 13 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, a son-in-law: Bob Buckley of Buffalo, two sisters: Dorothy Schindler of Buffalo and Beverly Elsenpeter of Waverly, two sister-in-laws: Marion Lacina and Marie Hayes both of Buffalo, many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by children: Dale Bonk, Ronald “Curly” Bonk and Marlene Buckley; her parents, two brothers: Albert and Allen Perisian and by a sister: Janette Elsenpeter.
Funeral services for Mildred “Millie” Bonk will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, August 6th at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor Chris Bode will officiate and interment follows at Lakeview cemetery. Visitation AT THE CHURCH on Friday, August 6th beginning at 12 noon.
Honorary casket bearers will be the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Casket bearers will be: Tim and Tony Endreson, Jarrod and Ryan Bonk, Joe Prestidge, and Shaun Corbin.
