Milan F. Zumach, age 74, of Buffalo passed away on Saturday, October 6th, 2012 at his residence with loved ones by his side.

He was born on November 6, 1937 in Hutchinson the son of Wendell A. & Florence E. Schmidt Zumach.

Milan graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1956.

Milan honorably served his Country in The Minnesota National Guard.

On February 1, 1958, Milan F. Zumach & Patricia M. Erickson were joined in holy marriage at The United Church of Christ in Hutchinson. God blessed their marriage with two sons Darin and Dean.

Milan was employed as a truck driver for many years by Land O Lakes Cooperative. He was later employed by Zion Lutheran Church and by The Peterson Chapels in Buffalo and St. Michael.

Milan was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting trips to Montana and Wyoming and fishing trips to Canada.

He was the longtime Chairman of The Buffalo Championship Rodeo and formerly served on The Wright County Fair Board. At present, Milan was a proud member of the Wright County Mounted Patrol.

Milan was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. He formerly served Zion on the Church Council, and also as an usher and custodian.

He was a passionate supporter of Buffalo Bison Althetics, especially following his granddaughters volleyball, basketball and softball teams. He also was an avid fan of the Minnesota Gophers and The Minnesota Vikings.

He loved his three grandchildren very much!

Survived by loving wife of fifty-four years: Patricia M. “Pat” Zumach; sons: Darin (Lauri) Zumach of Buffalo and Dean (Mysti) Zumach of Oakland, California; grandchildren: Kylee & Kari Zumach and Milo Zumach; other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: Wendell and Florence, a brother: John Zumach, father-in-law & mother-in-law: Glen & Erlene Erickson and by a sister-in-law: Jeanette.

Funeral services for Milan Zumach will be held on Wednesday, October 10th at 1:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor Luke Schmidt will officiate.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 9th from 4-7 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Further visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10th one hour prior to services at the church.

Honorary Casket Bearers will include members of The Wright County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol and past & present members of The Wright County Fair Board.

Casket Bearers will be John Bruns, Joe Hagerty, Ron Jude, David Kummer, Wayne Paumen, and Darrell Watkins.

    Sorry to hear of Milan’s passing, will remember you and your family in our prayers. Remember his teasing and smiles. Let me know if there is anything that I can do, because I know what you will be facing in the weeks and months ahead. Darrel passed away 5 years ago last June. It would be nice to hear from you as a former member of Zion.
