He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Deborah (Runner), daughters Amanda Jo Rhoades and Alyssa Joy Rhoades-Ochieng, son-in-law Edgar V. Ochieng, and grandchildren Isabel and Isaiah. Also surviving are his parents, Richard and Margaret Rhoades of Greenville, OH; sister, Annette Holmes of Cleveland, OH; sister-in-law Denise (Roger) Stahl; brother-in-law David (Susan) Runner; mother-in-law, Arlene Runner and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed drag racing, tractor pulling, toy and car shows, collecting and meeting new people – but his main focus was being a loving and wonderful Grandpa, Dad and Husband. He will be greatly missed!

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 29th at 7:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Buffalo. A visitation will be held AT THE CHURCH from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, June 29th.

    For the Family and Friends….
Our heartfelt condolences to you as these difficult days go by. May you be comforted by the goodness of Mike all around you.
There are fun memories, fond memories of Mike from those Greenville High School days of 1969; indeed we enjoyed catching up with one-another at the GHS 40th reunion last August. It was good that we could share some time…
We pray your own memories of Mike provide comfort and solace as the reflections of his life come forth, and those memories serve to bring forth warm thoughts of rememberance.
God grant him Peace for the ages…

To Mike’s family, Deb and Mike’s daughters, and to Richard, Margaret and Annette,
My prayers go out to all of you. I was deeply saddened to hear of this news, not having spoken with Mike for over 30 years. It stirs the emotions as we shared some special times and some darker moments. We were far too young to have entered into such a committment and really not well matched. I was heartened to read of the love he experienced in his life and to know of his connection to his wife, his children and grandchildren and his faith. He was blessed. I am saddended to know of his cancer, as I have been, most recently, a hospice social worker and know what he must have endured. I hope his pain was as controlled as humanly possible. No one should have to endure that! There is great peace in knowing he is no longer suffering. My heart and prayers go out to you, especially Margaret and Richard. You are very special people and I still have fond memories of you and always will. It is so hard to lose a child no matter if they are 58. I will be thinking of you on 7-12, as Mike would have been 59. God give you strength to face the days ahead and I hope it helps to know that Mike’s life will always be cherished and remembered, even by someone who crossed his path so many years ago. With love, Karen

You have my deepest condolences. I never met Mike but I always wanted to. I was his Aunt Diana and my father was Mike’s grandfather, Conley Walton. I’m so very sorry this came so late. From all I hear he was a wonderful man. ~ Diana, Huber Heights, OH
