Michael Patrick McNeal was born May 28, 1955, the first and only son of Fremont “Pat” McNeal and June, nee Barsheack, McNeal.

He spent his entire early childhood years residing in their home on Bushey Road in Webster, WI. He was a true outdoors country boy, learning early on from his dad to hunt, fish, trap, build, plant, and appreciate nature at its finest. He attended Webster Elementary School and Webster High School where he participated in most of the major team sports. He graduated in 1973.

After high school, Mike attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis for 2 years, prepping himself for a career in electrical sales. He retired decades later from American Midwest Power in Plymouth, MN. The Wisconsin boy had become an official Minnesotan. But by address only, his heart never left the woods of his birth state. He returned often to visit family and friends and do all the other things he was passionate about, hunting, fishing, canoeing, snowmobiling, and supporting his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. His frequent companions were his twin daughters Caitie and Allie, his absolute pride and joy.

Mike was always very involved in his daughter’s sports while they were growing up. Coaching them in softball from the time they could pick up a glove. He would never miss any of their sporting events, and was always caught cheering loudly. Once they were out of the house, he always made sure to check up on them. Texting or calling them almost every day with the latest news and visiting them often always being sure to bring his mom’s famous chili with him. He especially loved seeing his “little buddy,” Maverick. His sister, Margaret, was also so special to him. He called her often and would always go back to Bushey Road to spend time with them playing cards, talking about their childhood, and catching up on life.

The tight bond Mike had established with his family was only disrupted by his untimely death, sudden and unexpected, on April 19, 2024.

Preceding Michael in death were his parents, Pat and June McNeal, paternal grandparents, Leon “Mac” and Marie (nee Eckert) McNeal, and maternal grandparents Paul and Margaret Barsheack, Aunt Leona McNeal, Uncle Jim and Aunt Marion Barshack, nephew Steven Sumner, and niece Pam Sumner.

He is survived by his cherished daughters,  Allison McNeal, and Caitlin (Dustin) Vickerman, his adored grandson, Maverick Vickerman, and his loving sister Margaret (Mike Lowe) Sumner. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family feel the loss of an all-around wonderful person .
