Michael Anthony Soderlund, age 55 of Mound, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016. He was born February 18, 1961 in Golden Valley, the son of Richard Soderlund and Barbara Casey.
Michael was baptized and received First Holy Communion at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Minneapolis. He was confirmed in the Catholic Faith at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.
Michael grew up in Minneapolis and St. Michael and graduated from Cooper High School in New Hope.
Michael was a Master Plumber with B & D Plumbing & Heating in St. Michael and Uptown Plumbing & Heating in Minneapolis.
Michael was a proud Marine Veteran. He enjoyed boating on Lake Minnetonka, traveling all around the country, going on drives, playing and watching golfing, and playing the drums in his band Shaker Hood.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Casey; grandparents, Clarence and Anne Soderlund, Lorraine and John Casey; and uncle, Robert “Bob” Soderlund.
He is survived by his father, Richard Soderlund; daughters, Ally Soderlund and Hannah Soderlund; sisters, Lori Johnson, Patti Holladay, Julie Freshwater, MaryJo LaFond, Ann Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Michael Soderlund will be held Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. Father Thomas McCabe will be celebrant. A visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
