Melvin M. Daleiden, age 85, of St. Michael passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
He was born on May 8, 1930 in St. Michael the son of Meinrad “Boy” & Katherine “Kate” (Schmidt) Daleiden.
On September 4, 1950, Melvin M. Daleiden and Donna Mae Dick were joined in holy marriage at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. God blessed their marriage with four children.
Melvin formerly worked in the pump department at Geo. A. Clark and Son. In 1972, Melvin along with his brother Billy established Daleiden Plumbing. In 1981, M & D Plumbing-Heating-Air Conditioning was founded.
He was a lifelong, faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.
Melvin enjoyed baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins.
Survived by loving wife of sixty five years: Donna Mae Daleiden; children: Judy Berning of Las Vegas, Joan (Dan) Peatrowsky of South Haven, Michael (Tina) Daleiden of Otsego and Thomas Daleiden of St. Michael; six grandchildren: Tim, Jessica, Bailey, Brad, Matt and Ben; four great grandchildren: Jacob & Jenna, Katee & Ryan; three great, great grandchildren: Jack, Reese & Cooper; brothers & sisters: Clifford (Marcie) Daleiden and Evelyn Beaudry all of St. Michael, Eleanor Becker of Buffalo, Billy (Betty) Daleiden of Maple Lake, Meiny (Mona) Daleiden of Zimmerman and Verna (John) Feeney of St. Paul; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his son-in-law: Ken Berning, his parents and by two sisters: Martina Beaudry and Armella Schumacher.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Melvin Daleiden will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 20th at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.
A visitation will be held at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home in St. Michael on Monday, October 19th from 4-8 P.M. A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M Monday evening. Further visitation was held on Tuesday morning, October 20th at the church one hour prior to Mass.
Honorary Casket Bearer were Brad Daleiden.
Casket Bearers were Tim Berning, Jacob Hanson, Bailey Daleiden, Jessica Sand, Dan Peatrowsky and Ronald Dick.
