Mary D. Peterson-Anderson, age 93 of Buffalo, MN passed away on October 29, 2016 at Cottagewood in Buffalo. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Buffalo with visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church on Thursday. Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Buffalo, MN.

Mary was born on January 21, 1923 in Buffalo, MN to John and Frances (Munsterteiger) Hinton. Mary graduated from Buffalo High School. She married James Peterson Sr . They owned and operated Oak Grove Dairy, serving Wright County for many years. James and Mary also owned Buffalo Roller Ranch for 23 years. Mary then worked for Dr. George Roberts, an optometrist in Buffalo for 20 years. Mary and James taught ballroom dancing for many years. Mary was a very accomplished seamstress, making wedding and prom dresses, polka costumes throughout the years. They retired and traveled with their RV and also wintered in Mesa, AZ. James Sr. passed away on April 29, 1993. On October 21, 1995 Mary married Harland Anderson. They lived on Little Lake Pulaski. Together they remodeled Harley’s home. They too traveled extensively including trips to Alaska, Vancouver and also the Panama Canal. They enjoyed dancing as well. In 2015 they moved into the Cottagewood of Buffalo.

Preceded in death by her husband, James Sr.

Survived by her husband, Harley Anderson; son, James (Linda) Peterson Jr.; daughter, Susan (Allen) Ende; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
