Mary Lou (Wistrom ) Svoboda, 84, passed away on April 15, 2010 at Parkview Terrace Care Center in Buffalo, MN. Mary was born on March 27, 1926 in Mankato, MN, to Ray and Elsie Wistrom.
She graduated from Mankato High School in 1944 and then worked for Mid Continent and Braniff Airlines. She married Grant Svoboda and lived in Monrovia, CA until retirement, before moving to Clear Lake, IA to be closer to her family. When her nieces moved to Buffalo, MN in 2004, Mary moved to the community, as well, and made many special friends there.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her husband. She is survived by her brother Wes Wistrom and his wife Jean of Clear Lake, IA, her stepdaughters Leslie Rotramel and Patty Kiehl, and grandchildren Casey, Garret, and Tyler. Nephews Jay Wistrom and his wife Karen of Buffalo MN, and Jeff Wistrom and his wife Cheryl of Fishers, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 23, at 11:00 AM at Spirit of Joy church in Buffalo, MN (3477 10th St NE), with visitation 1 hour prior.
Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato, MN.
