Mary Lou Kolles 73, of Albertville MN passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2022.  She was born on the family farm, which was known as Lehnville on March 6, 1949 in St. Michael, MN to parents Elmer & Eveline (Kersting) Lehn.

On February 10, 1968, Mary Lou Lehn and Wayne Edwin Kolles were joined in holy marriage at St. Michael Catholic Church in St Michael, MN. In their 54 years together they were inseparable, rarely spending moments apart.  They had a spiritual connection that only the two of them shared. Their love for one another was immeasurable. God blessed their marriage with 8 children.  Family has always been the center of Mary Lou’s life and nothing brought her greater joy than being with them.  Mary Lou was a faithful member and pianist for the Church of St Alberts for 53 years.  While raising 8 children she continued to use her gifts to bless many people, especially the children of St. Michael- Albertville Elementary where she worked as a para-professional for 22 years.  Mary Lou’s love for the Lord guided her throughout her life even in times of joy and sorrow.  She lived out her faith daily in service to others.  She was an intelligent woman with a Masters degree in life and a BA in cooking & baking.  She made the world’s best mashed potatoes and cookies.  You never left her house on an empty stomach or a to-go plate enclosed in plastic wrap and two twist ties.  Her love for her children and everyone around her was selfless.  Her gift when writing words of affirmation epitomized her integrity and warmed your heart inside and out.  Her servant heart was unrelenting.

She is survived by her loving husband Wayne Kolles of Albertville; children: Bonnie (Glenn) Kaiawe, Daniel (Lupita) Kolles, Cheryl (Wiley) Hester, Shawn (Jena) Kolles, Rachel (Rich) Kimmerle, Adam (Amy) Kolles, Jared (Natasha) Kolles; daughter-in-law Erin Kolles;  23 grandchildren: Braxton, Savannah, Gabrielle, Sophia, Landon, Callan, Brandon, Melanie, Vanessa, Jacinta, Amara, John Paul, Gracie, Alexandra, Joe, Justin, Ian, Josh, Violet, Medora, Ruby, Elis, Treyson and one great-grandchild Evelyn; brothers and sisters:  Rosalie Anselment, Henry (Nancy) Lehn, James (Susan) Lehn, Elmer A. Lehn, Jeannie (Jim) Kramer, Jeanette Mock, Linda (Ed) Hall, Ramona (Gerald) Martin and Sheila Lehn; and a host of relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by parents Elmer & Eveline Lehn, son Randy Kolles, grandchildren Gianna, Lila, Ryan, and Adam, sister Margaret Grabinger, and brother Gerald Lehn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 12, 11 AM at Church of St. Alberts in Albertville.  Interment:  St. Albert’s Cemetery, Albertville MN.  Visitation at Church of St Alberts Sunday, December 11, 4-7 PM, Vigil Service 7-8 PM.

In lieu of sending thank you’s, the Kolles family wishes to express their gratitude for your kindness during these last few days.  Your expression of sympathy is greatly appreciated.
