Mary Jane “Janie” Brandjord passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25th, 2013 at the age of 94 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

She was born October 1, 1918 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Magnus and Johanna Gunderson and lived there in Minneapolis.

On September 6th 1941, Mary Jane Gunderson and Arnold J. Brandjord were joined in holy marriage and celebrated sixty-five years of marriage. God blessed their marriage with five children.

In 1973 they moved to Florida, returning to Minnesota in 2005.

She is remembered as a loyal friend, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Bright and intuitive, she possessed many fine gifts; a gracious heart, genuine kindness and an infectious giggle.

Survived by her loving children: her son: Gregory Brandjord and wife Anna of Overland Park, Kansas City, a daughter-in-law: Mary Brandjord of St. Francis, Minnesota, a daughter: Marsha Watkins and husband Mike of Buffalo,Minnesota, a daughter: Mary Hammond and husband Donald of West Palm Beach, Florida and by a son: Paul Brandjord and wife Kris of Big Lake, Minnesota; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by her husband: Arnold J. Brandjord , her parents: Magnus and Johanna Gunderson, by a son: Stephen Brandjord, three sisters and by one

brother.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 29th at 4:00 P.M. at The Lake Ridge

Friendship Center, 310 Lake Blvd S, Buffalo, Minnesota 55313. Pastor Chuck Dake will officiate.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 30th, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1200 Hwy 25 S, Buffalo, Minnesota 55313.

Funeral services for Mary Jane “Janie” Brandjord will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 30th at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minnesota. Pastor Luke Schmidt will officiate.

Diane Johnson will be the organist for the funeral service. Special music will be provided by Jason Chalupnik.

Interment will follow at The Crystal Lake Cemetery, 3816 Penn Ave N. in Minneapolis, Minnnesota 55412.

Casket Bearers will be her grandchildren: Klee Walsh, Sara Johnson, Rachel Browning, Michael Brandjord, Christopher Brandjord, Ryan Watkins, Kristin Norton, Steven Brandjord, Austin Brandjord, Olivia Brandjord, Anthony Brandjord, Lindsey Hammond, Lauren Hammond and James Hammond.
