Age 79 of Rockford, MN journeyed to heaven on Monday, April 25, 2016.
Janie was born the daughter of Henry and Josephine (Lizote) Martin on May 25, 1936 in Belcourt, ND. She was a member of The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa.
She worked for 28 years as a clean room technician for Control Data retiring in 2000.
Janie will always be remembered for hosting the holiday’s at her house. She loved having the house full and cooking her family’s favorite foods. Her traditional foods, including fry cakes, bullet and banick were treasured by her family and will be missed.
She loved to crochet and everyone she knew had received at some point one of her knitted stars.
James, her husband, and Janie loved spending time together and travelled to many motorcycle rally’s, including Sturgis. Janie was a dedicated caregiver and wife to James until his death in 2009.
Janie is survived by children Pamela Barta, Janice (Randy) Wilson, Johnny (Darla) Andreoff and Connie (Bruce) Wolf; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother Danny (Karen) Martin; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by husband James; parents, Henry & Josephine Martin and brother Gerald Martin.
