Mary Ann Olson, age 78, of Montrose died Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

She was born on April 8, 1930 in Elmore, Minnesota the daughter of Donald & Murie McQuarie.

On January 12, 1952, Mary Ann McQuarie & Leslie E. Olson were joined in holy marriage at The United Methodist Church in Elmore, Minnesota. God blessed their marriage with five children.

Mary formerly worked at The Target Store in Knollwood Mall in St. Louis Park.

She belonged to V.F.W. Post # 1901 Auxiliary.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the Casino and dining at Perkins.

Survived by loving children: Doug Olson of Shakopee, Laine (Cherlyn) Olson of Maple Lake, Draye (Brenda) Olson of Bloomington, Laranne (Greg) Erickson of Eden Prairie and Dawn (Bruce) Scheie of Montrose; 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister: Jane (Barney) Frerichs of Duluth; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Preceded in death by her husband: Leslie E. “Les” Olson on August 21, 2006, her parents, a sister and by 3 brothers.

A Memorial Service for Mary Olson will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 17th at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Pastor Becky Sogge will officiate and interment will follow at the Kreidler Cemetery in Montrose.

Marlene Mohwinkel will be the organist for the Memorial service and Rolf Mohwinkel will provid special music.

There will be a time of gathering one hour prior to services on Wednesday, September 17th at The Peterson Chapel.

Urn Bearer will be Andrew Scheie.

    So sorry for your loss, Les & Mary were good friends of my parents, (Rose & Bernard Speraw) I lost my dad in ’97, but mom is 91 & doing well!.
    Our thoughts & prayers are with you. Mary was very special.
