November 28, 1951 – November 10, 2023

Mary Agnes Blanchard, age 71, of Eagan passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on November 28, 1951, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Jack & Maxine Moran.

She is survived by her daughter: Christine (Kyle) Hartnett; grandchildren: John Robert, Erin Moran and Samantha Mary; siblings: Jackie (Jerry) Hall & Kathy Youngquist, sisters-in-law Charlene Moran & Mary Jo Zvonek, her cat: “Ms. Toast”; best friend, Susan Pilon; many nieces, nephews, friends & colleagues.

Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Dick, David & Bobby Joe Moran & brother-in-law Carl Youngquist.

Mary’s love for animals started early in life.  She spent her childhood at many horse shows and competitions.  She was a natural horsewoman and loved being in the barn.  She shared her love of horses with her daughter, granddaughters, and nieces, who keep her love of horses alive. Through the years she had several pets with the most recent being her biggest buddy, “Ms.Toast.”

Mary was employed at Schmitty & Sons as a bus driver for over twenty years.   Prior to that she was a Deli Manager at Super America for over twenty years.  She was a dedicated employee and was recognized for it with the Outstanding Service Award from MN Valley Transit.  Her career in the service industry provided an opportunity to meet many people. Mary was an avid listener to the stories of others and enjoyed all types of interchanges, although she was a bit outspoken in a good way.

She enjoyed all sports.  Especially watching her grandchildren play.  She would often spend her weekends at softball games, soccer matches, swim meets, basketball games and tennis matches.  No matter the outcome, she was always the number one fan of not only her grandchildren but also their teammates.

In addition to watching her grandchildren, she was an avid Twins and Vikings Fan.  She was often eager to give her opinion on how the local professional sports teams were doing!  She was always involved in sports one way or another. Back in the day, she was a major asset in multiple international airline softball tournaments, including filling in on women’s teams, and serving gallons of beer to thirsty softball players. Her welcoming demeanor and sense of humor helped make these tournaments a huge success.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 20th beginning at 3:00 P.M with a Memorial Service following at 4:30.  Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at The Klecatsky & Sons Funeral Home, 1580 Century Point, Eagan, MN
