Marjorie Pauline (Mattson) Vassar, age 72, of Buffalo, MN passed away at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN on September 2, 2014.

Funeral service on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church, Buffalo at 11 AM.

Visitation from 4-8 PM on Monday at The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo & one hour prior to service at the church on Tuesday.

Interment Swedish Mission Cemetery, Buffalo.

Marjorie was born at the family home on September 7, 1941 in Buffalo, MN to the late Gilbert and Lenora (Bolduc) Mattson. She grew up in Chatham Township and attended country school until 8th grade, then switching to school in town. When she was in 10th grade, she quit school to take care of her ailing mother. She went on later to proudly obtain her GED and complete a program as a medical assistant. She worked at Tonka for many years and later in life worked as a cook for Ebenezer and Kensington Nursing Homes. She was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W.

She enjoyed being around people and especially loved spending time with her family, her kids and grandkids being her greatest joy.

Marjorie is survived by her children; daughter Leonora Vassar of Willmar, Mike (Brenda) Vassar of Maple Lake; daughter, Joy (Aaron) Vassar of Buffalo; sister, Janet (Lawrence) Endres of Buffalo; sister-in-law, Vera Mattson of Buffalo; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers Walter, Arthur, Fred, Henry and Donald; and one grandchild Mark.

The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo assisted the family with arrangements.
