Marjorie Adeline Torblaa, age 93, of Delano, MN went to be with her Lord on September 7, 2015.
She was born on February 5, 1922 in Grafton, ND the daughter of Walter and Adeline (Britnell) Schneider. She attended school in Grafton and graduated from high school in 1940. She married Gordon “Doc” Torblaa, also from Grafton in 1940. Besides Grafton, Marge and “Doc” lived in Stephen, Blue Earth and Rockford. They were blessed with five boys Lon, David, Jon, Mark and Paul. They owned and operated The Rockford House from 1954 to 1969 and then moved to Tucson, AZ. Marge was active with the American Legion and the VFW Auxiliary in Tucson, even serving as the VFW Auxiliary President. Doc passed away in 1979. Marge then moved to Henderson, NV in 2001 to be near her youngest son, Paul. In 2009 Marge moved back to Delano, MN and resided at the Legacy of Delano. Marge was the mainstay at The Rockford House as she worked tirelessly to run the restaurant and family at the same time. She passed her tremendous work ethic on to all of her boys. After her working days were over, she enjoyed traveling, playing cards and walking.
Marge is preceded in death by her husband “Doc” and son David in 1996.
She is survived by her sons Lon (Laverne), Jon (Luanne), Mark (Susan), and Paul; daughter-in-law Brenda (David’s widow); fourteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Marjorie Torblaa will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to services at Cross Lutheran Church in Rockford, MN.
The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, MN assisted the family with arrangements.
I am very sorry to hear of your mother’s passing away. I am honored to have known her. She is one of the sweetest and strongest ladies I ever known. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
