Marilyn Margaret Eggersgluss was born August 3, 1928 to James and Mary Moore. She grew up on a farm near Buffalo with her eight brothers and sisters.
Marilyn graduated from Buffalo High School in 1946. After graduating, she worked as a telephone operator for seven years.
She married Melvin Eggersgluss in 1952 and together they raised 15 children.
Marilyn was a devout Catholic, volunteering at the church for many years and helping deliver Meals-On-Wheels.
Marilyn loved swimming and pontooning with her family at the cabin up north. She instilled a sense of adventure in each of her children by spearheading road trips out east in the family van. She single handedly kept the post office in business with the cards and newspaper clippings she sent out continuously to her 15 children to keep them up on current events. A loyal sports fan, she loved the Minnesota Twins and the Vikings. She could go toe to toe with anyone on sports trivia. She made her children proud to be part of a large family, supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. Her smile was irresistible, her laughter contagious; a trait she passed on to each of her children. She was the hub of the family –tracking the comings and goings of the kids, the grandchildren and her nieces and nephews that she also had close and special relationships with. She enjoyed hearing about the travels and experiences everyone would share with her and she in turn would share them with others –she was a social network before the term was coined.
On June 26, 2016 the good Lord called and Marilyn accepted an invitation to a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. An unlimited buffet of laughter, hugs and love will be served. Irish music will be playing as they welcome Marilyn to the party. We will miss her laughter the most, but we can still hear it in the smell of fresh cut grass, the winners call out in “Bingo” and sound of Irish music.
Preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Moore; in-laws, Ernest and Emma Eggersgluss; brothers, George (Dolores) Moore, Orville (Sarah) Moore, and Russell (LaVerne) Moore; sister, Lauretta (Ben) Lepinski; sister-in-law, Elnor Doherty; brother-in-law, Ralph Eggersgluss; niece, Louise Moore; nephews, Gary Eggersgluss and Bill Doherty; and great-nephew, Patrick Randall.
Survived by her husband, Melvin Eggersgluss; brothers, Marvin (Sally) Moore, Dennis (Ronnie) Moore, and Edward Moore; sister, Kathleen Ratican; brother-in-law, Francis Doherty; children, Mary Jahnke, David Eggersgluss, Joanne (Pete) Ahearn, Christine (Din) Buckvold, Janie (Craig) Matthys, Kathleen Gerlach, Daniel (Cheryl) Eggersgluss, Julie (Tim) Moseley, Peter Eggersgluss, Marty (Michelle) Eggersgluss, Tom Eggersgluss, Annie (Roger Stroud) Eggersgluss, Joe Eggersgluss, Bob Eggersgluss, Lynn (Bob) Vashro; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to Mass at the church on Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Father Nathaniel Meyers will be Celebrant. Interment at St. Charles Cemetery in Maple Lake.
Casket bearers will be her sons, David Eggersgluss, Daniel Eggersgluss, Peter Eggersgluss, Marty Eggersgluss, Tom Eggersgluss, Joe Eggersgluss and Bob Eggersgluss.

Dear Eggersgluss Family,
So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I have so many good childhood memories at your house and with your family.
May you all find comfort and peace in all the good memories you have.
I am terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I know how much she was loved by all you guys. I lost my Mother over 10 years ago and my father 10 years before that. I’m sure your mother was grateful for the time you kids managed to find to be with her over this past year.
