March 12, 1942 – August 20, 2023

Marian Sarah Tillmann (Schmidt), age 81, was called in her sleep to heaven on Sunday, August 20th, at her home in Rogers.

The first of four siblings, Marian was born on March 12th, 1942 to her loving parents, Theodore and Vivian Schmidt.

Marian was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Corcoran, MN, where she was baptized, attended school, and was confirmed. Marian was also married to her husband of forty eight years, Louis M. Tillmann, there on Saturday June 8th, 1963.  Marion remained a faithful and active member at St. John’s until her death.

Marian graduated from Buffalo High School, and was then employed by the State Bank of Rogers, where she diligently served as a teller for many years.

One of the things Marian loved the most in life was her family, and she greatly enjoyed getting to watch her children, grand children, and great grand children grow. She loved the time she spent with her siblings and in-laws, and many an afternoon was spent playing cards, eating donuts, drinking coffee, and laughing. She and her dear husband also loved to spend time together, doing things such as traveling, bowling, fishing, and gardening.

Survived by her loving children: Rev Gary (Jeanette) Tillmann of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Mark Tillmann of Rogers, Brent (Michelle) Tillmann of Rogers and Paul Tillmann of Rogers; son-in-law: Martin Oliver; Nine grandchildren: Eight great grandchildren: Three siblings: Darlean Goskey, Carol Jobes, and Harold Schmidt (Cathy). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Louis: daughter, Kay, parents: Theodore & Vivian., father-in-law & mother-in-law: Louis & Elizabeth Tillmann

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice are preferred.

Visitation will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Maple Grove MN on Tuesday, September 5thfrom 5-7pm, and service on Wednesday, September 6th at 11am, with one hour visitation before service.

Casket Bearers will be Dan Goskey, Mitchell Schmidt, Ted Schmidt, Larry Dalchow, Darcy Wandersee and Nick Tillmann.

    My thoughts and prayers for comfort and peace to Marian’s family. We had some good times working at tthe Bank in Rogers until I left in 1984. Marian was one special lady. I know she is now in the arms of Jesus. My sincerest Sympathy.
