Margaret H. Hafften, age 91 of Buffalo, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at Lake Ridge Care Center.

Margaret was born in Buffalo on May 22, 1917 to Edward Louis and Hattie A. (nee Walz) Kobbe. She was baptized on June 24, 1917 and confirmed on August 17, 1930, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pelican Lake. She was also married at Immanuel Lutheran Church on November 4, 1939 to Keith K. Hafften. A Class of 1935 graduate of Buffalo High School, Margaret worked for 17 years in the cutting room for Wonderalls children’s clothing factory in Buffalo. She was a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, Bible study, and sewing group. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and gardening, especially flowers.

Margaret Hafften is survived by children: Jeanette (Donald) Holm, Cokato, and Ken (Eileen) Hafften, Blaine; sister-in-law, Clarice Sherman, Buffalo; six grandchildren: Mark (Susie) & Brad (Beth) Holm, Julie (John) Newstrom, Karen (Lance) Vargason; Nick & Emily Hafften; great-grandchildren: Derek & Cassidy Holm, Samantha & Jack Newstrom, and Taylor & Carli Vargason; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers: Harold & Ervin Kobbe.

Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Visitation is Monday, 4-7 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel – Buffalo and resumes at St. John’s Lutheran Church, one hour before the funeral. Interment is in Lakeview Cemetery.

    I was known as Marlys Ordorff. I am sure you will be greatly missed. I remember you vividly and Jeanette mostly as I grew up.
