Margaret Elizabeth (nee Johnson) (Veches) Kalway passed away on Friday, November 4th, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

She was born on November 14, 1922 in Chatham Township, Wright County the daughter of Frank & Otillia (Berg) Johnson.

In 1940, Margaret Johnson and Harold Veches were joined in holy marriage. God blessed their marriage with three sons Kenneth, Gerold and George. Harold preceded Margaret in death in 1959.

In January of 1966, Margaret was joined in holy marriage to Raymond Kalway.

Margaret lived her whole life around the Buffalo and Maple Lake area.

Through the years, Margaret held many offices in the American Legion Auxiliary.

In addition to her first husband Harold Veches, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Otillia Johnson, a son Kenneth Veches, a sister and her husband Alice and Sid Berkowitz, a brother and his wife Melvin and Rita Johnson, a grandson Todd Veches and by a great grandson George Jones.

Survived by her husband Raymond “Ray” Kalway; sons: Gerold (Susan) Veches and George (Betty) Veches; a daughter in law: Geri (Carl) Bruckmann; step children: Marcia (Leo) Endres, Joe (Ruth) Kalway, Kenny (Judy) Kalway, Jimmy (Shirley) Kalway and Karen (Gary) Biegert; grandchildren: Terri (Ross) Danielson, Jennifer (Steve) Munson, Kevin (Sara) Veches, Kristine Veches, Amber (Arthur) Lebow, Emily (Roger) Halderson, April Veches (Jim Herzog ) and Abby (Troy) Daly; 16 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many step grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret Kalway will be held on Wednesday, November 9th, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake.

Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Buffalo.

Readers for the Mass will be Olivia Munson, Jonathan Danielson and Bailey Veches.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8th from 4-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Further visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9th at the church one hour prior to Mass.

Casket Bearers will be Margaret’s grandchildren: Terri Danielson, Kris Veches, April Veches, Jen Munson, Kevin Veches, Abby Daly, Amber Lebow and Emily Halderson.

    Maggie was such a sweet lady, I will miss seeing her Sunday mornings at Perkins!!
