Marcella was born July 16, 1926, to Erick & Olivia (Roepke) Ebert. She was baptized at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, MN on August 15, 1926, by Pastor HR Klemp and confirmed on May 12, 1940 by Pastor W.C. Barlau. Her confirmation verse was Hebrew 13 Verse 5 (Be content with such things as you have, for he hath said I will never leave thee nor forsake thee). She attended school at St. John’s until the 8th grade then went to work at the egg producer in town.
She met her husband Emery on April 5, 1942, and had their first date. Emery left for the Army on December 7, 1942. They were engaged on September 23, 1942, and were married on March 10, 1945, at St. John’s. After some time they bought a small farm in Corcoran were they raised their three children Marcia, Judy and Bob. In 1980, they sold their farm and moved to Maple Grove where they met their good friends Chuck and Gloria Trout. Marcella cleaned homes for extra income. After Emery lost his leg in a working accident she worked for Lyon Foods with her sisters-in-law until she retired.
Marcella was a care giver for her husband after his stroke, then her mother Olivia and also her aunt Alice. After Emery passed, she went out on mystery trips with her sisters-in-law, played cards with the Hanover Seniors and also enjoyed many nights for dinner and a movie with friends.
Marcella loved baking, gardening and canning her bounty for the winter. Family was very important to her. She had so much love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had many hugs and kisses, kind words to guide them on the right path and telling them “Don’t forget to thank God” and “Listen to your heart”.
In 2005, she sold her home in Maple Grove and moved in with Jack and Marcia. After health issues she made Park View Care Center her home in 2010 were she made many friends. Tuesdays and Saturdays were Bingo and Thursday was her hair day so she could look her best for church on Sunday. She always had so many compliments on her hair.
On March 19, 2017, she joined her Savior and loved ones in heaven.
Marcella is survived by children Marcia (Jack) Schalo, Judy (Elrey) Grambart and Robert (Linda) Faue; grandchildren Carrie, Andrea, Rachel, Karen, Mike, Missy and Jacob; great grandchildren Olivia, Emma, April, Abbi, Lucas, Sophia, Owen, Charlotte and Jasmine; brothers Harvey Ebert and Bruce Peterson; sister Patty Hanson; sister-in-law Verdell Faue-Schlief; brother-in-law Al Berge; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents Erick and Olivia Ebert; husband Emery; brother and sister-in-law Donald (Marion) Ebert; sister-in-law Mabel Ebert; 7 brothers-in-law and 5 sisters-in-law.
