Marc Allan Schlismann, age 71 of Albertville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 16, 2018. He was born April 19, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Carl Acha and Val Jean (Johnson) Schlismann.
Marc was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He was active in many youth activities at church and scouts during his childhood.
He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1965. In 1966, Marc enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1969. After his service, Marc attended college at the University of Minnesota.
Marc was a Boy Scout and Explorer Scout, and a member of the American Bikers for Awareness Training and Education (A.B.A.T.E.) of Minnesota Lake Chapter where he also served as Sgt. of Arms for many years.
Marc was a dedicated hard worker up until the day he died. Even when reaching the age of retirement, he was not ready for that; he enjoyed his work. He was recently employed with Pentair/NVent in Anoka.
Marc was an avid reader and also enjoyed playing card games on the computer, watching TV, and birthday date nights with his wife Debbie. Marc was a humble man who never complained.
On December 14, 2007, Marc Allan Schlismann and Deborah Sue Rice were united in marriage in Buffalo, Minnesota.
Preceded in death by his mother, Val Jean Schlismann and father, Carl Acha Schlismann.
Marc is survived by his wife, Deborah Sue “Debbie” Schlismann of Albertville; brother, Duane (Debbie) Schlismann and their family of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; uncle, Bob (Lee) Johnson and their family of St. Michael; best friends, Mark and Michelle Backlund of Elk River; and many other family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, with Military Honors and a time of sharing at 2:00 PM, at The Peterson Chapel, 300 Main Street North, St. Michael, MN.
