Mabel Backstrom, age 99, a Buffalo resident for most of her life, passed away peacefully at the Park Ridge Care Center, October 11. She was surrounded by her loving family and a compassionate staff of the care center at the time of her death.

Born and educated in Michigan, she moved to Minnesota, where she meet and later married Dean Backstrom. She and Dean operated the “Soo Line Bowling Alley and
Restaurant” managing to raise 2 children while doing so –Roger Greenwood and Patricia Robasse, both predeceased. She is survived by three grandchildren – Carye (Merle)
Nieskens of Buffalo, Craig (Theresa) Pierce of Buffalo, and Chris (Linda) Robasse of Buffalo in addition to 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to the

Loss of both children, she was predeceased by her spouse Dean and her only brother Herman Page. Private Services are planned for a future date.
