Visitation Information

Lyska Mae Davis of Albertville, MN, formerly of Midland, Texas, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, March 12, 2016. She was born on August 27, 1924, to Leon Cleve and Ada Brown in Downey, CA.

First and foremost our precious mom and grandma loved Jesus with all her heart. She dedicated her life to exemplifying this love to those around her. She was a prayer warrior and student of God’s Word. Another attribute that everyone recognized after meeting and knowing our mom was her joyous spirit and contagious laughter that was evident most every day of her long and blessed life. There were difficult times as with all of us, but she chose to look for the best in people and circumstances. She was an encourager and truly exhibited the Fruit of the Spirit mentioned in the Bible.

She lived in numerous places, including California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, but primarily in the West Texas area. She loved to play the piano, sing for friends and at church, shop, and eat Mexican food. We will be forever grateful to the Lord for preserving her for so many years so that we could enjoy the wonderful things encompassing her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Rodney Vaughan, and two sisters, Aurelia Cosby and Jean McDonald.

She is survived by one daughter , Velva Duffy (Patrick) of Midland, Texas and one son, Vince Vaughan (Jacki) of Albertville , MN, spouse of deceased son, Amanda Paul of Houston, Texas, six grandchildren , Josh, J. P., Natalie, Grant, Tucker, Abbie, and six great grandchildren , Lakoda, Audrey, Nyah, Patrick, Ezra and Pearl.

A family memorial is planned for a later date in Minnesota.
