October 8, 1931 – January 1, 2022

Lyle Victor Thingvold, age 90, of Buffalo passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.

He was born on October 8, 1931 in Minneapolis, the son of John O. & Selma (Ishaug) Thingvold.

He graduated from Rockford High School in 1949.

Lyle honorably served his Country in the Merchant Marines sailing The Great Lakes.

In 1957, Lyle V. Thingvold and Shirley A. DeVries were joined in holy marriage at The Buffalo Evangelical Covenant Church.   God blessed their marriage with a son Larry.

He was formerly employed with his father as a commercial painter, and later as an Account Executive for The Yellow Pages.

He loved his grandchildren and was very proud of them!

Lyle was an avid golfer and spent many hours on the course.  He enjoyed sports, especially The Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins.

Survived by his loving son: Larry (Lori) Thingvold of Delano; grandchildren: Shelby and Andy; siblings: Daryle (Suzette) Thingvold, Shirley Jacobs, Dennis Thingvold and Doug (Carole) Thingvold; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley A. Thingvold in 2017, his parents, siblings John Wallace (Lois) Thingvold, Frannie (Reider) Hansen and Richard Thingvold; brother-in-law John Jacobs and sister-in-law Mary Thingvold.

Services for Lyle Thingvold are pending and will be held at a later date.
