Lucille Joyce (Ordorff) Weldele, age 88 of Buffalo, Minnesota, passed away November 11, 2020.
She was born June 7, 1932 in her grandparent’s log home in Buffalo Township, Minnesota to George and Florence (Mosher) Ordorff. Lucille graduated from Buffalo High School, class of 1950. She worked in Hopkins at Minneapolis Moline where she was employed as a keypunch operator, becoming first in speed at her craft; an accomplishment of which she was very proud. She worked there until she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Jerome Warren Weldele on September 15, 1951 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Together they purchased the Bodem’s Homestead where they made their home and farmed the land with their family.
Lucille worked at Parkview Care Center as a nurse’s aide and as an administrative assistant from 1965 until her retirement in 2010.
She played self-taught piano and the Cajun accordion. She and Jerome appreciated their time at the family cabin in Akeley, Minnesota. Lucille enjoyed baking and was known for her homemade bread. She loved to entertain. Christmas was very important to her and it filled her with joy to have her whole family home and friends stop by. Her kind and generous heart gave her the opportunity to make many friends, and she had a smile for everyone. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; son, John; granddaughter, Emma Lucille Handt; parents, George and Florence; and sister, Beverly Kowalke.
Lucille is survived by her children, Tonia (Dale) Wagner, Lisa (Craig) Thibodeau, Julie Weldele, Ava (Bruce) Stensby, and Jessica (Eric) Handt; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vernice Kowalke and Marlys (James) Schermer; daughter-in-law, Sandy Weldele; and many other relatives and friends.

Julie,Ava,and family
You are in my thoughts at this time.
Lucille was a beautiful lady, in spirit as well as physical beauty. Always wanted our Moms to visit again as we’re close growing up. My Mom talked of how she used to bike to her house. Remember working with her at Parkview and always chatted with her in the office about our families. She and Jerome were a nice and striking couple! She was so gracious and easy to talk to. I’m sure she will be missed dearly, but know our Moms are visiting in heaven. They are in peace now with Jesus! My deepest sympathy to all the Weldele family.
Julie and Weldele family, I have a wonderful memory of your parents and the great food and music at a weekend at the cabin for the cajin party. I still remember seeing the northern lights for the first time on that trip. A wonderful gift your family shared with me when I was living in MN. Sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family.
