Louis M., Tillmann age 78, of Rogers passed away Sunday, May 20th, 2012 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
He was born in Hamel on January 24, 1934 the son of Louis & Elizabeth Braun Tillmann.
Louis was baptized in infancy. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith. Louis honorably served his Country in The United States Army.
On June 8, 1963, Louis M. Tillmann & Marian S. Schmidt were joined in holy marriage at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran. God blessed their marriage with five children.
Louis was formerly employed in water service for Mr. Water Care and later at Culligan.
He served on the Rogers Fire Department for twenty nine years and was a past Assistant Fire Chief. Louis was a faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maple Grove. He was a former Church Elder, a member of St. John’s School Board, an usher and served as Treasurer of St. John’s Mission & Building Funds. He enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Survived by loving wife of forty eight years: Marian S. Tillmann; children: Rev Gary (Jeanette) Tillmann of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Mark (Theresa) Tillmann of Elk River, Brent (Michelle) Tillmann of Rogers and Paul Tillmann of Rogers; son-in-law: Martin Oliver; 10 grandchildren: Josh, Matt & Rachel; Chris & Nick; Brandon & Jeremy; Meghan, Luke & Amanda; a great granddaughter: Sarah; siblings: Bob (Kate) Tillmann of Brooklyn Park, Joanne (Jerry) Deiley of New Hope & Bill (Amy) Tillmann of Minneapolis; sister-in-law: Kathy Tillmann of Otsego; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by a daughter: Kay, parents: Louis & Elizabeth, a brother: Gerald and by father-in-law & mother-in-law: Ted & Vivian Schmidt.
Funeral services for Louis Tillmann will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 24th at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9141 County Road #101, in Maple Grove.
Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, May 23rd from 4-8 P.M.
Further visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24th at the church one hour prior to services.
Casket Bearers will be Allen Tillmann, Scott Tillmann, Bill Deiley, Jonathan Jobes, Ted Schmidt and Joe Goskey.
The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home is serving the family.
I am so very sorry for your loss. It has been many years since I have seen any of you. I used to spend alot of time with Kay and the boys. I miss her every day as well. My thoughts go out to your family.
