Visitation Information

Lorene A. Noling, age 77 of Buffalo, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids on Monday, June 30, 2008.

On May 10, 1931, Lorene Anna Matthews was born to Oscar and Rose (Linnemeyer) Matthews in Charles City, Iowa. Lorene played the accordion and met Richard Noling at a band concert. They were wed on March 23, 1949 in Cambridge. Primarily a homemaker, Lorene worked for a time at Honeywell, in its munitions department. She earned her GED in 1971. In her earlier days, Lorene enjoyed camping. She also enjoyed playing cards, watching birds, and doing puzzles. She was a terrific cook who also canned and baked. Lorene was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ.

Lorene Noling is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard; children: Dennis (Denise), Richfield, Richard “Dan” (Deborah), Annandale, and Michele (Duane) Raymond, Buffalo; sisters: LaVona Murdough, Janice Session, and Rose Ann Hauser, all of Prescott, Arizona; brothers: Walter (Dorothy) Matthews, Des Moines, Iowa, Dean (Wanda) Matthews, Prescott Valley, AZ, and Roger Matthews, Prescott, AZ; grandchildren: Kristina Beaulieu, Jason (Sophia) Noling, Nichole (Joe) Engvall, Clinton Noling, Garret (Jessica) Noling, Kody Raymond, and Brennen Raymond; great-grandchildren: Allesha Beaulieu, Mercedes Moshier, Natalie Noling, Shoshannah Noling, and Micaiah Noling; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Darryl and Kenneth; and grandson, Richard Dan Noling Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2008 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Maple Lake.

    Michele, Ron & I are very sorry to hear about your mother. She was always good to me and was a very nice person. I will never forget the trip she took us on to Arizona. I hope your family is doing well, in this sad time.

    We’re sorry to hear that Lorene passed away. I saw her a while back and she recognized me as “hey, you were our neighbors!” (We bought Lester and Leona’s place.) Then we reminisced about things and how she would spoil our kids on Halloween with big handfuls of candy!! She was such a delightful lady, I’m glad we had the pleasure of meeting her along life’s path! Please know that you’re in our thoughts.
