Loren Steven Merges,age 83, Albertville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 30, 2017 surrounded by family.

Loren was born June 26th, 1934 to Andrew and Lucille (Barthel) Merges. He attended school in Albertville, and was in the Army reserves.

Loren married his soul mate and best friend Catherine (Katie) Zimmer in 1958 and raised 8 kids while working hard on his 3rd generation family farm.

Loren was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Loren had a soft spot for animals and a passion for collecting Farmall tractors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie whom he adored, and talked about EVERY day. Also proceeded in death by his parents Andrew and Lucille, son, Daniel; brothers, Frank (Shirley) and Andrew (Pete).

Loren is survived by his children, Mike Merges, Tom (Connie) Merges, Jim (Jill) Merges, Lori Eicher, Kevin (Melody) Merges, Lisa (Mike) De Mars, Shelley (Jeff) Bursch; 18 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
