Lonnie C. Rux, age 72, of Rockford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo. She was born on May 1, 1944 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Harold and Irene (Knutson) Vance.

On August 4, 1962, Lonnie C. Vance and Gerald E. Rux were joined in holy marriage at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. God blessed their marriage with two children.

Lonnie was a longtime member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. She enjoyed reading, and in her early years snowmobiling, playing softball and golfing.

Survived by children: Dennis (Cristi) Rux of Rockford, MN and Tracy (Roger) Lee of Watford City, ND; grandchildren: Nichol, Jessica (Shane), Jenny, Taylor, Max; 8 great-grandchildren; sister: Pauline (Donald) Theilen of Bloomington, MN; sister-in-law: Peggy Vance of Bloomington, MN; brother-in-law: Jerry Thompson of Corcoran, MN; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband: Jerry Rux; parents: Harold and Irene Vance; brother: Gary Vance; and sister: Dianne Thompson.

Memorial services for Lonnie Rux will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 4:00 PM with visitation starting at 2:30 PM at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Pastor Paul Schuler will officiate. Interment at a later date at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Greenfield.

Honorary urn bearers will be Lonnie’s grandchildren: Nichol, Jessica, Jenny, Taylor and Max.
