Lois Jeanine Kalstrom, age 89, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018. She was born February 3, 1929 in Geddes, South Dakota, the daughter of Selmer and Linnea (VanDeen) Hawkinson.
Jeanine was a 1947 graduate from Brownton High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from St. Olaf College, graduating in 1951; she later received her Master’s degree.
Jeanine was a Home Economics teacher at Madison High School for two years and at Sleepy Eye Public High School for 26 years.
She was a member of the Federated Women’s Club, Women of the ELCA, and of the Democratic Party. She has recently enjoyed water color painting.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Selmer and Linnea Hawkinson; and husband: Roger Kalstrom.
Jeanine is survived by her son: Jeffrey Kalstrom of Duluth; daughter: Kristine Miller (Jay) of Buffalo; grandchildren: Brett Miller (Jessica), Scott Miller (fiancée, Denise) Erik Kalstrom, Maja Kalstrom; great-grandchildren, Landon Stribling, Carson Stribling, Nolan Miller; and other loving family and friends.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ministry Center in Park View Care Center, 613 Montrose Blvd, Buffalo, MN.

My prayers go to your family. I enjoyed seeing your mom at Park Terrace and enjoyed my day with her at Munsinger Gardens last summer on their outing.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. K was my teacher for many years in Sleepy Eye. She was a kind woman.
