Lloyd L. Zahler, age 78 of St. Michael, longtime milk bottler for Land ‘O Lakes and former owner/operator of Mr. Z’s Drive-In passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Delano.

He was born on July 9, 1931 in St. Michael the son of Erwin & Armella Jaeb Zahler.

He honorably served his Country in The United States Army during the Korean War.

On November 22, 1951, Lloyd L. Zahler and Shirley M. Lein were joined in holy marriage at Church of Corpus Christi in St. Paul, Minnesota. God blessed their marriage with eight children.

He was a faithful member of The Church of St. Michael in St. Michael. Lloyd was also belonged to The St. Michael Foundation and Catholic Aid. A member of The St. Michael American Legion and served as Past Commander.

Survived by loving wife of fifty eight years. Shirley; children, Max (Linda) Zahler, Martin (Sandy) Zahler, Jim (Krista) Zahler, Michele (William) Olson, Joseph (Rhonda) Zahler, Julie (Keith) Franklin, Dana (Shelly) Zahler, and Don Zahler; twenty two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Father Paul Zahler, OSB, and John (Nettie) Zahler; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Armella Zahler; step mother, Ann Zahler; and by sister, Zita Goettsche.

A concelebrated Mass of Christian for Lloyd Zahler will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, February 5th at The Church of St. Michael in St. Michael. Concelebrants: Father Peter Richards, Father Maurus Jaeb, OSB and Father Paul Zahler.

Interment St. Michael Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4th from 4-8 P.M. at The Church of St. Michael. A prayer service will be held 7:30 PM.

Further visitation will be held at the church on Friday, February 5th at the church one hour prior to Mass.

Casket Bearers were Nick Zahhler, Andrew Zahler, Doug Lindenfelser, Anthony Olson, Kyle Robeck and Benjamin Zahler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The St. Michael Foundation or to NIDD of Shawnee, OK.

The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home is serving the family.
