Lloyd J. Daluge, age 86, of Rogers, lost his earthly fight but gained eternity on November 8th, 2008. If Lloyd was ever asked what he did, he always answered “I’m a railroad man”. He loved the out of doors and died on the opening of deer hunting season. In fact, the planned celebration of Lloyd’s life was carried out with the upcoming weekend of deer hunting in mind. He also loved to fish. Mille Lacs Lake had to go on restriction because Lloyd and Eleanor fished it! In addition, he enjoyed trapping, coon hunting and camping. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years: Eleanor (nee Bursch); children: Judy (Paul) Ashe of Conover, N.C., Jane (Thomas) Walters of Elk River, Arne (Char) Daluge of Aurora, CO and Sandy (Scott Erickson) Holland of Rockford; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; a sister: Ardella Sipe of Buffalo; a special nephew: Sherm Sipe “little brother”; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents: Herman & Mary, by an infant son and a sister: Delores Paur. A Celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held on Thursday at 3:00 P.M. at Word of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers. Visitation AT THE CHURCH on Thursday beginning at 1:00 P.M.
