Linus “Len” Remer, age 89, of Maple Grove passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015.
He was born on March 6, 1926 in Lester Prairie, MN the son of Frank S. and Kathryn (Lachermeier) Remer Sr.
Len honorably served in the US Army.
On August 1, 1945 he married Lorena Dalchow at the Holy Trinity Rectory in Winsted, MN. God blessed their marriage with six children.
He formerly owned and operated Lawn King and was a member of St. Thomas The Apostle Church in Corcoran. Len was also a lifetime member of the Hamel V.F.W. and belonged to the Hanover Seniors.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Lorena Remer; children Gary (Peggy) Remer, Linda (Paul) Honl, David (Marilyn) Remer, Wayne (Kathy) Remer, Mark (Lois) Remer and Shelly (Art) Gonshorowski; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a sister Magdalen Campbell; a brother Ralph (Sylvia) Remer; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial for Len Remer will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at St. Thomas The Apostle0 County Road 10, Corcoran, MN. Father John A. Gallas will be the Celebrant.
A visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday, October 2nd at The Peterson Chapel, St. Michael/Albertville Funeral Home and one hour prior to Mass at the church on Saturday, October 3rd .
Casket Bearers will be Mike Honl, Tim Honl, Brian Remer, Jesse Gavin, Tom Remer and Jim Johnson.
Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
