Linda M. (Czanstkowski) Sawatzke, 51, of Buffalo, MN, passed away on November 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her son: SSGT Rory R. Gavic; her mother: Ellen Weeks, nephew: Raul Cervantes; grandparents and beloved pug Otis.

Survived by husband: Jim Sawatzke; sons: Carleton and Charlie; stepdaughter: Cassie; grandson: Logan; father: Frank Czanstskowski; stepfather: Rick Weeks; siblings: Debra (Dave), Rita, Frank (Debbie), Mike (Melody), Dianne (Tom), Bob (Kathy), and many stepsiblings, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Her family, friends, and dogs Gizzy and Gus, were her life!

Those who knew her would agree, Linda lived a full life on her terms. She loved road trips, warm destinations, motorcycle rides, and working in her garden. No one drove quite like Linda. Her memory will live on in those that loved, and were loved fiercely, by her.

Her life will be honored during a wake Thursday, November 21st from 4-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 22nd, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Buffalo American Legion. In lieu of flowers, a Linda Sawatzke Memorial Fund has been set up at Klein Bank in Buffalo.

There are no answers. Only questions. They say time will heal all wounds. I don’t believe it. Remember Linda for the great person that she was. May your family find peace with all this tragedy. Love to all your family Randy and Doris.

The loss of a love one
    is so hard to face,
    you just want to hide,
    go some where and escape!
    But death is something,
    we all must go through,
    I know it’s hard,
when it’s someone you loved and knew.

    Just know now,
she is in a better place,
no more hurt or pain shall she face.
It seems unfair and yes this is true,
but she is in Heaven now
    watching over me and you!

God has called her home to rest!!
And she’s being well taken care of
    Because God knows best!

My sweet sister, our heart breaks as we say goodbye. We both knew the pain and sorrow when it came to loosing our son’s. Who will I call to understand that deep pain. My wish for you is to finally be happy in Heaven. I will continue to strive to support awareness of depression and suicide prevention. I believe in my heart this is my cross to bear. I met Linda at a Gold Star Retreat 2 years ago and she quickly became important to me…as did her sister Dianne who would go to the Retreats with Linda. I loved her. She has left her footprint on my heart and I will always remember her with a smile. To all of Linda’s family…I know there is nothing I can say to make things better and sorry just isn’t good enough. Just know I care and am praying for all of you.

Today would be your 61st Birthday, I think of you often. We were neighbors from 1965 until 1977. I remember the time you and your 2 boys came to Wi.to see me. You had not changed. I do wish we would have stayed in touch. Just wanted to let you know I still think about you.
