Lillian M. Carstensen, age 87, of Buffalo passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Lake Ridge Care Center.

She was born in Buffalo on February 15, 1924 the daughter of Carl & Freida Erdman Carstensen.

Lillian graduated from Buffalo High School in 1941.

She began working at the local lumber yard in 1945. Lillian finished with sixty two years in the lumber business before retiring.

She was a faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo.

Her favorite saying was “See you round the corner.”

Survived by a niece and a nephew: JoAnn Fadden of Buffalo & Wayne (Janice) Mero of Milaca; great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Emma Mero.

Funeral services for Lillian Carstensen will be held on Thursday, October 20th at 10:00 A.M. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor James Disney will officiate.

Visitation at the Church on Thursday morning, October 20th beginning at 9:00 A.M.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Gregory & Sandy Dickerman and Sophie, Ron & Bonnie Enter and family, The New Year’s Eve Group and Lillian’s Classmates.

Casket Bearers will be Seamus Cronin, Kurt Fadden, Sean Cronin, Danny Abbott, Judd Goers, Todd Mero, Chad Mero, Dan Mero and David Mero.

Memorials are suggested to donor’s choice, St. John’s or Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church-Crawford Lake.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

    To our Tante Lillian. I know you are in Heaven teaching God to make the most yummy Rice Pudding. It was always a gift of love to our family and we were Honored to be your Non-family family. We love you and will miss you forever.

    The heavenly sky will be the perfect blue as Lillian knew exactly how many drops of yellow to add to the green. She loved her job and it showed.
