Visitation Information

Lidia M. Wandersee, age 92, of Park View Care Center in Buffalo and formerly of Delano, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011.

She was born on December 7, 1918 to Herman & Freda (Topel) Krause at home in Delano.

Lidia was baptized on January 12, 1919 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano by Reverend E.H. Bruns.
She was confirmed on July 24, 1932 at Mt. Olive by Reverend E.H. Bruns.

On October 20, 1937, Lidia M. Krause and George H. Wandersee were united in marriage at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano. They observed 52 years of marriage.

They farmed for thirty one years in the Delano area. Lidia was employed outside of the home for twelve years.

She enjoyed traveling to Germany, Hawaii and other states too. She also loved to fish.

Lidia is survived by her children: Elizabeth Schmidt of Delano, Robert (Joan) Wandersee of Aitkin, Frederick (LaDonna) Wandersee of South Haven, Shirley (Dennis) Bodin of Watertown, South Dakota, Charles Wandersee of Motley, Diane (Kenneth) Huston of Buffalo, Duane (Julie) Wandersee of Delano, Kenneth (Virginia) Wandersee of Buffalo, Kathy Parker of Buffalo, Jerry (Karen) Wandersee of Delano and Nancy (Jack) Sawyer of Howard Lake; a daughter in law: Sandra of Longville; thirty seven grandchildren, sixty seven great grandchildren and sixteen great, great grandchildren; a brother: George Krause of Montrose; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband: George Wandersee on December 1, 1989, her father & mother: Herman & Freda Krause, sons: Richard, Donald and David Wandersee, siblings: Alfred, Edwin, Viola, Melvin, Herbert, Willard, Roger, Gordon, Richard and Frederick, a grandson, two great granddaughters, a great, great granddaughter and by a son-in-law: Jim Parker.

Funeral services for Lidia Wandersee were held on Wednesday, February 23rd at 1:00 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Pastor Highland Goodman officiated.

Interment followed at Mount Olive-West in rural Delano.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, February 23rd two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

Casket Bearers were Daniel Wandersee, James Hubbell, Eric Butler, Todd Keating, Mike Schmidt and Darcy Wandersee.
