Leone Kalway Berthiaume, 91, of Montrose formerly of Maple Lake, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at her home in Montrose.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16 at St Francis Xavier Church, with Fr. Nathaniel Meyers officiating. Burial followed at Lakeview Cemetery.
Visitation was held at Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Leone Agnes Berthiaume was born on April 14, 1925 in Maple Lake to the late Bernard and Anna (Carriveau) Kalway. She married Raymond ‘Shorty’ Berthiaume on February 12, 1945 and their family was blessed with 12 children. Shorty preceded her in death on February 18, 1973. She worked outside the home, but enjoyed being a homemaker most. Leone spent her retirement years volunteering at Wright County Community Action until the age of 85. She lived in Wright County all her life with the last 45 years in Montrose.
Leone is survived by her sons, daughters and their spouses. Michael (Linda) Berthiaume of Rockford, Eleanor Berthiaume of Florida, Carol Berthiaume (Joe) of Hewitt, Dale Berthiaume of Fergus Falls, Leone Anderson of Howard Lake, Peggy (Marvid) Skeslein of Montrose, Russell Berthiaume of Hewitt, Rose (Kevin) Rasset of Montrose, Pamela (Joseph) Kummer of Maple Grove, brother, Ray (Margaret) Kalway of Buffalo, sisters, Doris Angell of Monticello, Lorraine Anastasian of Arizona, 31 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, sons, Raymond Jr, William, Jerry, Francis, grandsons, Adam, Patrick, Jason, William Jr., daughter-in-law, Darlene, three brothers and one sister.
The pallbearers were Barry Berthiaume, David Berthiaume, Terry Berthiaume, Daniel Berthiaume, Douglas Berthiaume, Marvin Miller, Aaron Rasset and Zachary Van Erp.
