Kangas, Leonard W. age 81, of Annandale, MN, formerly of Elk River, MN, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Centennial Villa in Annandale, MN.

He was born February 2, 1933 to John and Agnes (Hannula) Kangas in Tomahawk, WI. Leonard married Iris May (Zerbe) Kangas on September 27, 1952 and they were blessed with nine children. In the summer of 1965, he and his family moved to Minnesota from Tripoli, Wisconsin. Lenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, watching football, and working and operating his business Lenny’s Burner Service.

Lenny will be deeply missed by his sons, John W. (Janelle) of Bolingbrook, IL, Allan L. of Minneapolis, MN, and Michael T. (Andrea) of Elk River, MN; daughters, Cynthia L. (Steve) Nelsen of Roseville, MN, Nancy J. Stanley of Big Lake, MN, Susan M. Jacobson of Nekoosa, WI, Laura J. Kangas of St. Cloud, MN, and Sarah L. (Jeff) Skrove of Zimmerman, MN; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene White, Bertha Herbst, Joyce Halverson; and many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Lenny was preceded in death by his wife, Iris May Kangas; son, Brian Kangas; and sister Mildred Hacker.

Memorial service Tuesday, December 16, 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 10:00 AM at Champlin United Methodist Church, 921 Downs Rd, Champlin, MN.

The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo is serving the family.
