Leon Raymond “Lee” Maas, age 75, of rural Delano passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at The Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

He was born on September 3, 1937 in rural Delano the son of Charles & Annie Schultz Maas.

Leon was the grocery produce manager for over forty years, though it changed names several times, Holmquist’s, County Market, Gordy’s Foods, Econo Foods and Cobourn’s in downtown Buffalo.

He also enjoyed fishing, flower gardens and cooking/baking.

Survived by a daughter: Lori Marudas; grandchildren: Mairssa, Bryce & Luke; sisters: Valerie Wright, Lucille Styrbicky and Delores Poliwoda all of Delano, Donna Leick and Janice Van Lith-Ruhr both of Buffalo; many nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Lloyd and Russell Maas and by a sister: Joyce Otto.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Leon “Lee” Maas was held on Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Delano. Father Paul Kammen was the Celebrant. Private interment Calvary Cemetery.

A time of gathering was held on Saturday, March 16th one hour prior to Mass at the church.
