Leo Peter Thielen, age 82 of Buffalo, MN passed away on June 8, 2012 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.
Leo was born on March 20, 1930 in Meeker Township, Meeker County, MN to Michael & Mary (Hawkins) Thielen. Leo served in the National Guard for four years & the US Army for three years. He married Elizabeth Brulla on May 12, 1956. They farmed on the home farm for seven years & then moved to Minot, ND where Leo worked construction on the Air Force base. They moved to Eden Valley where Leo worked for Super Radiator Coils in St Louis Park, Mn for 28 years. They moved into Buffalo in 1973.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty of Buffalo; sons, Joe, David, Ed (Teri) & Bob all of Buffalo; daughters, Mary Thielen, , Karen Thielen, Elizabeth Kirkham & Rose Thielen all of Buffalo; grandchildren, Jesse Elhers, Sarah Whiting, Jon & Josh Thielen, Amber, Heather& Tyler Kirkham & Michael Thielen; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Addison, Skylar, Camrynn & Christopher; sister, Irene Mackmurphy of Minneapolis.
Leo is preceded in death by five brothers & sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Buffalo. Visitation on Monday from 4-7:30 PM with a rosary at 7:30 pm at Peterson Funeral Home, Buffalo, and one hour prior to Mass at the church.
Military rites by: American Legion Post #270 of Buffalo.
Private interment.
