Lauren Terrance (Terry) Hogan, age 69, of Big Lake, Minnesota died 06/17/2015 at his home after battling lung cancer since last fall.

Terry was born on March 22, 1946 in Aitkin, Minnesota, to Floyd and Lydia (Hyytinen) Hogan. He grew up on their dairy farm in Aitkin along with his sister, Cherie.

Terry graduated from Aitkin High School in 1964, moved on to attend Central Lakes College in Brainerd, where he also served as a volunteer fireman. In 1966 he moved to Minneapolis where he attended Dunwoody Industrial Institute for 2 years in their welding program while working for Commercial Steel Fabricators. In 1968 he enlisted with the United States Army and served 2 years as a finance specialist attached to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

On April 10th, 1970 Terry was married to Victoria (Viki) Himes in Eben, Michigan. After his service he returned to work at Commercial Steel Fabricators until 1971, when he entered the apprenticeship program for Boilermakers Local 647, where he maintained his membership until his retirement in 2004. During his 34 year career, Terry worked with his boilermaker brothers on hundreds of jobs repairing and building industrial power plants and other facilities from one side of the country to the other.

Terry is survived by Viki and their two sons: Sean Hogan of Duluth, Minnesota; and Ross (Alissa) Hogan of Negaunee, Michigan, and his three grandchildren Deidra (Aaron) Boyd of Otsego, Minnesota; and twins Marek & Kiara Hogan of Negaunee. He is also survived by his sister, Cherie (Jerry) Holm of Champlin, Minnesota; along with numerous other relatives, and a host of brothers and sisters in faith.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents Floyd (04/08/2005) and Lydia (12/17/2013) Hogan.

Services will be held on Saturday 06/20/2015 at 5:00 p.m. at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church 14000 129th Avenue North, Dayton, Minnesota with Rick Salmela officiating. Family will greet friends starting at 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date at the Rabbit Lake Cemetery of Glen Township, by Aitkin, Minnesota.

Arrangements are being handled by The Peterson Chapel Funeral Home 119 Central Avenue North, Buffalo, Minnesota
